We believe that the superior quality of our shade net houses starts with our design which we believe to be of the best in class. Each project starts in the draughting room where the net house is designed to meet the exact specifications of the customer. The design combined with our uncompromising view that only the best, quality locally sourced Materials. Our materials comprise of the following:
Anchors
The anchor is a 16 mm galvanised round bar and a 250 mm x 1.8m log which is buried at a depth of 1.5 meters. This anchor-design can handle a force of 8 ton and is installed at an angle of 45ﹾ (degrees).
Anchor Cables
Anchor cables are a 10 mm staywire attached to the anchor with a vineline guide grip which can handle 5.5 tons.
Roof Cables
The Roof Cables depends on the distance of the field. It can either be a 6mm or an 8mm staywire which can handle between 2.5 – 4.5 tons.
Netting
In South Africa we only use Net manufacturers with a proven track record who is in the frontline with the development of new scientifically designed products.
Wiring
We use a 2.24mm fully galvanised wire which we thread into the net. The wire and the net are attached to the staywire with a 23mm hogring.
Poles
We prefer creosote poles, treated H5, because the lifespan is 15-20 years. We only use CCA treated poles if it is the customer’s preference. All the external poles are 150 – 175mm. The internal poles are 100 – 125mm. All these poles are planted at a depth of 600mm to ensure no “pole lift” in the middle of the field, which is a leading cause of structural failure.
